Knitting all over Japan

We are headed off to Japan in April to visit my grandparents, and started thinking about what I wanted to visit. Outside of the temples, museums, parks, and cherry blossom viewings, I’d like to go visit a few Japanese yarn shops — can anybody recommend a few? We’ll definitely be in Tokyo for much of the trip and then later Narita. Other stops might include Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Nikko…

    Oooh! I can’t wait to see what you find out! My husband’s going to Shanghai and Tokyo in April too and I told him last night - he better bring me some yarn!

    That sounds like so much fun! You should definitely see if you could visit the Noro headquarters, but I think that it is in northern Japan.

    Hi,I am a Japanese who lives in Osaka (near from Kyoto) You must visit to Avril. They has very special yarn. You would love there!

    Hello! I live in Japnan,located far from Tokyo and Osaka. When I went to Tokyo last month,I visited to big yarn shop “Yuzawaya”,located Kamata &Kichijyoji. URL here http://www.yuzawaya.co.jp/information/mise_ka.html

    I’ll be staying overnight in Narita in October. Does anyone know of any yarn shops near the Narita Airport or near the Nikko Narita Hotel?
